Earlier this week, I called Sightron, and they told me that the NEW models were being checked at "quality control." I obviously don't know if this is true, but thats the answer the lady gave me.  ???

Hello Larry, I just joined the forum but I did want to say that I do appreciate the time & effort that you've put forth on this matter & I am one of the folks who have put the deposit down & I'm "all-in" even if the wait is longer that we'd all like it to be. - Best Regards, Ron

Thanks Ron for the comments and support. You did it the right way and got on the list.  If the company happens to follow the pattern of sales of the 8-32 and trickle in, the list is the only option for getting one early on. Larry in western Ky.

Well, thanks to another poster we now know the new Sightrons are available at Midway right now. Sightron never replied to my e-mail questions so that leads me to believe that they really don't care if I'm a customer or not, which makes me wonder if I were and had a problem with the scope would I get the same response.
I know, some of you will say "They are busy, can't reply to every e-mail, yada, yada, yada." If that is so then they should just eliminate the contact info from thier website if they can't reply to e-mail questions.
I was on the fence about buying one, but think I'll pass now.

Oh, and FYI the same day I e-mailed Sightron I sent an e-mail to Nightforce with a question. They replied to me in less than 24 hours.

Hopefully, the reason Sightron is not answering their mail is because they are too busy shipping scopes.

I'd rather just wait and support Larry's business, he's been there for us 6mmbr form member and I'd like to see him stay in business. It's not exactly like the world going to come to a end if I'm not the first guy to show up at the range with one.Any way I found both he and his wife to be as accommodating folks as you'll ever find to deal with. Midway is always going to be there the small business owner are just trying to keep it going in todays economy. I find it a shame that the large discount houses should always get priorty over the smaller distributers.  If all the facts were known Larry has probably done much more to push Sightron products and keep the competive shooters informed then any of the large distributors. But the big dog always ends up with the bigest bone.

Thanks RJ, you are so right. I brought the news of this scope to boards attention mid 2009, long before most vendors knew anything about it. Mid Way never acknowledged its existance until about a month ago. Looks like they are smarter than me because I took the heat, while Mid-Way got the GOLD and I got the shaft. Larry in western ky.

I sympthize with Larry. It's always the little guys that do the most PR for a manufacturer but a lot of times since "Money Talks" are left to pick up the crumbs. Since Larry has done so much PR for Sightron you'd think they would step up to thae plate and do something for him.
I know distributors get involved here, but Sightron if you are reading this (which I'm sure you are not) all I can say is step up.

Other manufactures who actually care about the end user and the people who sell thier products step up all the time without being asked. Berger Bullets is one of those manufacturers.

Have Faith in Larry he always comes through!!!!! Everybody that has one on order will get one.   Just like they did when the 8X32's came out.   I got mine just like he promised.  If I was buying a new Sightron 10X50 I wouldn't buy it from anybody except Larry.   We have to support our own members.  Nobody has faster and better service than Larry. His prices are always a little cheaper and free shipping.

Thanks Russ, I appreciate your thoughts and dedication.  I try hard to stay on top of things for the good of my business, and my customers, who makes my business what it is. Since I started I have had many repeat customers and referrals that keep me trying harder to gain that next new customer. Larry in western Ky.

Image clarity and eye relief are important, but what about its function, repeatability, and accuracy of movements?

Anyone box tested these yet?

I just received my 10-50X from Larry yesterday.  It is a really massive scope.  Image quality is right on par with the 8-32X....although yesterday was very cloudy/hazy.  I was focusing on a house and its' house numbers approximately 500 yards away.  The added magnification is very nice and will serve me well at the 1K line.  The turrets are longer but have the same feel as the 8-32X...also, the focus knob is larger in diameter.

All in all....I think they have a hit ( from my very limited experience ) if this new scope performs as well as its siblings.

I'll second the motion to deal with Larry in Western KY....Get on his waiting list...you won't regret it!
