Nice to see a "classic" varmint rifle nicely photographed with a great camera (Canon G11). CTShooter is a pro photographer BTW.

FYI to readers: We use Canon G10s for the site. The G11 offers a flip view screen and better low light performance, but they both take superb images... as you can see.

Your professionalism shows in your work. The photos are excellent. Years ago, I had Petersen take some brochure pictures of a caliber .50 tank training device. I was flatly amazed at what a pro can do with notoriously difficult-to-photograph firearms.

Although a long-time Nikon bigot, I bought my older daughter a Canon Rebel XTi at her insistence. She does sports photography with a 1D and wanted to use her EF lenses. The XTi has taken some superb photos of my dog and the animals at San Diego Zoo and Wild Animal Park. The price-performance of Canon equipment really surprised me.

p.s.: I forgot that the younger daughter received a Canon PowerShot SD780IS from me for Christmas. It also takes excellent photos and surprisingly good video. If I don't watch it, I'll have a Canon, too.  ;)

Ah, thanks, gents.  Canon is the pro shooters choice. G11 has manual exposure (unheard of for most lowers $ cameras, macro focus and shoots RAW files--best). An amazing camera is the 5D-$2500.00 for just the body though.   I had one & sold it-mistake. quality is superb.  Much of the quality is in the processing software and how the camera system interprets the data (pixels=photos).  The megapixel size may be an indicator of quality-or...not.  I use medium format dig. backs (Leaf Aptus 75S) on my Hasselblad H1 & that is a great file.  Hate to say it, the real key is Photoshop, as only with its use can you get the contrast & clarity that exists in the raw data of each file (photo).  G11 can easily be used for pro use, though.  If anyone is interested in the steps in using photoshop to improve the photos, let me know.  Chances are, if you have Photoshop, you already know...selling the rifle as I was on a Kimber jag & now am using more fiberglass stocked rifles that I can drag around & shoot prone, w/o worrying about scratches...moving to a broker site in a week....

I do not have any original photos but can probably dig up a brochure somewhere and scan it. The device was designed by a friend here in San Diego and the manufacturing rights sold to a Columbus, Ohio company. I redesigned it for production and set up the initial vendor operation. The company had some problems for awhile but seems to be doing better, now. This is a link to the present device, which differs a little from the early 90's. I conceived the AIMTEST acronym on a flight back to San Diego from Columbus. It looks like it stuck. ;)

Attached is a picture of a rifle that I designed for another company after leaving Barrett. It was a gas-operated, caliber .50 semi. I was demonstrating the weapon in Dubai in 1989 when it was about 115 degrees. That company was a victim of inadequate funding and the recession of the early '90s. Oh, well.
